President Obama will look to raise cash for House Democrats alongside former NBA star Alonzo Mourning next month, according to an invitation obtained by the Associated Press.

The March 20 event benefiting the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will take place in Mourning's Miami home; House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will also attend.

The former Heat center has been involved in promoting the president's signature healthcare law, cutting a commercial detailing his own struggles with kidney disease.

"When sickness or injury strike, having health insurance can mean the difference between falling and getting back up and dropping out of the game," Mourning says in the public service announcement.

"I know, because I was at the top of my game — I felt invincible — but when I went for my regular team physical it turned out I had a serious kidney disease. Thankfully it was caught in time to treat it and luckily, I was insured."

He and Obama played golf together last November on the Florida course where "Caddyshack" was filmed. Mourning also attended the first lady's 50th birthday bash at the White House last month.

The president's Miami fundraiser comes amid what is expected to be an aggressive fundraising push ahead of the midterm elections. A Democratic aide said earlier this week that Obama had committed to host at least six fundraisers for Senate Democrats.
