Former VP Cheney’s daughter joining Fox News

Former Vice President Cheney’s eldest daughter, Liz, joined Fox News as a contributor on Friday, the news outlet confirmed.

Cheney will act as a political commentator on topics including the Republican primaries.

Cheney, a former State Department official who primarily worked on Near Eastern Affairs, will also provide input on national security and foreign policy issues on programs including “Hannity” and “Fox News Sunday.”

Cheney previously worked for her father’s political campaign, leaving her post at the State Department to serve as a spokeswoman prior to his and former President George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection campaign. She also worked for Fred Thompson’s and later Mitt Romney’s 2008 presidential campaigns. She also helped her father write his 2011 memoir, In My Time: A Personal and Political Memoir.

Cheney has contributed to Fox News since 2009.
