

Ron Paul to pause campaign to vote against debt-ceiling increase
Ron Paul announced on Tuesday he would pause from campaigning in South Carolina to vote against raising the federal debt ceiling.
The Texas Republican plans to fly to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday for the motion of disapproval and resume his presidential campaigning on Thursday.
Last Friday Obama asked Congress to raise the debt ceiling by another $1.2 trillion. That request came after a tense standoff in August among legislators on Capitol Hill. The country narrowly averted a default because of unexpectedly long negotiations in Congress over a deal to raise the debt ceiling.
