Puerto Rico governor endorses Romney
Puerto Rico Gov. Luis Fortuño (R) endorsed Mitt Romney for president on Friday.
"Mitt Romney is the one candidate who has the record, leadership, experience, and pro-growth plan to continue the course of private-sector job creation we’ve begun in Puerto Rico and provide economic stability for generations," Fortuño said in a statement.
Hispanic governors have repeatedly been mentioned as possible vice presidential candidates, although until Thursday's debate, Fortuño's name had virtually not come up at all. Other more common names include Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval and New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.
