President Obama signed an executive order Monday enabling more borrowers to receive relief on student loan payments, underlining the effort as one voters should reward come November.

Speaking at the White House, Obama said the executive action, which would broaden access to a plan that would cap student loan payments to 10 percent of income, is as clear a sign as any that Democrats have the public’s interest in mind.
