Santorum expects to make Indiana primary ballot
Rick Santorum now expects to be on the Indiana primary ballot.
In a tweet, the former Pennsylvania senator said his campaign found 49 petition signatures that were wrongly rejected by the Marion County, Ind., Board of Elections.
"We've found 49 petition-signers who were incorrectly rejected by Marion Co BOE. I expect to be on IN ballot first thing this morning," Santorum tweeted Monday.
On Friday, it appeared that Santorum would not be allowed on the ballot because he seemed to have fallen 24 signatures short of the 500 required for Indiana's 7th congressional district. At the time, it was unclear whether Santorum planned to file a legal challenge in order to get on the ballot.
Santorum's GOP rivals, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, are all likely to qualify for the Indiana ballot.
Indiana's primary is scheduled for May 8.
