Santorum reports raising $250k in one night, $400k over two days

Rick Santorum says he raised $250,000 since he won three primary contests in Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado.

On Wednesday, the day after the presidential contests in the three states, The Associated Press reported that the former Pennsylvania senator saying he raised $250,000 in one night and $400,000 over the last two days.

The funds are a much needed infusion for a campaign that's been running on a shoestring budget since Santorum got into the race.

Nevertheless, mostly through traditional retail campaigning, Santorum has won four GOP presidential contests, beginning with his victory in Iowa's first-in-the-nation caucus.

On Wednesday, Santorum shrugged off the idea that he's handicapped compared to better funded candidates. He said that even though Mitt Romney has a sizable war chest, the former Massachusetts governor hasn't won every caucus and primary so far.

"He had the organization and the money yesterday, too, and it didn’t work out so well for him, did it?" Santorum said according to The Wall Street Journal.
