Susan B. Anthony List makes $150K ad buy for Santorum
The anti-abortion-rights group Susan B. Anthony List is airing a new pro-Rick Santorum radio ad in Michigan on Thursday.
The radio ad buy, just ahead of the state's GOP primary vote, is for $150,000, according to the group.
"Rick Santorum led the fight in the Senate against partial-birth abortion. Not because it was easy, but because it was right," the voiceover in the ad says. "Rick Santorum stood up time and again for the rights of women and unborn children."
The ad also goes after presidential front-runner Mitt Romney on abortion, praising Santorum for signing the group's anti-abortion pledge and criticizing the former Massachusetts governor for not signing it.
"Mitt Romney was unwilling to sign the pledge. For people who care about the right to life, Rick Santorum is the only candidate for president," the voiceover ads. "Rick Santorum —the will to change our country’s direction."
Santorum, who recent polls have found is leading the field in the Wolverine State, is hoping to dominate the primary, which would deal a significant blow to Romney, who grew up there and won it during his 2008 presidential campaign.
