Pro-Santorum super-PAC doubles ad buy in Ohio

The Red White and Blue Fund, a super-PAC supporting Rick Santorum, is doubling its ad buy in Ohio.

Stuart Roy, a spokesman for the group, confirmed to The Hill that the fund is spending an additional $257,000 in Ohio to air two ads. On Friday, the super-PAC announced that it was spending $257,000 in the state to air two ads.

One ad links Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney to President Obama, charging all three supported Freddie Mac. The other ad argues that Romney is a weak candidate because the former Massachusetts governor shares too many similarities with Obama.

The ad buy comes just ahead of the Super Tuesday on March 6, when Ohio, Alaska, Georgia, Idaho, Massachusetts, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia hold their primaries.

The Ohio ads will run through Election Day in the Super Tuesday states.

Santorum in particular is hoping to do well in Ohio and Oklahoma, a state where he's polling well ahead of Romney.
