Gingrich and wife dance the night away after grueling Super Tuesday
Newt Gingrich has been on the campaign trail for a long, long time, and Wednesday night, he and wife Callista took some time off to relax — and dance.
The highlight of the evening's playlist? A cover of Elton John's "Rocket Man," a subtle nod to Gingrich's call for an expanded space exploration program and moon colony.
Pictures from The Wall Street Journal show the Gingriches dancing slowly near the bar of the Jackson, Miss., Hilton Hotel, taking a personal moment out from what has been a hectic campaign scramble.
The couple danced late into the night — spotted in the hotel lobby well past midnight by reporters filing into the hotel – logging more than an hour on the dance floor.
“We had a long day, we did a lot of things,” Gingrich said. “My first interview is at 6:30 in the morning … You’ve got to take a few minutes off.”
Gingrich has started to exhibit the telltale signs of a grueling schedule in recent days. An Internet livestream camera for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee conference earlier this week caught the former Speaker taking a catnap before he was scheduled to speak.
