Trump records new set of robocalls for Romney campaign
Donald Trump could be coming to an answering machine near you.
The reality-television host, who threw his support behind Mitt Romney last month after a prolonged deliberation over his own presidential aspirations, said he would record robocalls for the former Massachusetts governor that could go out in all 50 states.
“Voters across the United States should expect a call from Donald Trump praising Mitt Romney for his tough stances on China, OPEC and other foreign countries that are depriving Americans of opportunities and jobs so that they can fulfill the American dream,” Trump spokesman Michael Cohen told ABC News.
Trump has said he deserved credit for Romney's decisive win in Nevada.
“There was a lot riding on that particular race in Nevada and it was interesting, because the numbers were much, much greater than you thought,” Trump said during an interview last month on Fox News. “And a lot of people are giving me credit for that. And I will accept that credit.”
Trump's spokesman said the real estate mogul was helping Romney connect with voters.
“Supporters like Mr. Trump introduce voters to the real Mitt Romney. And once that happens, people believe in him, believe in his campaign and go out to vote for him in the primaries and caucuses,” he said.
