It appears that President Obama is headed to the Big Apple for Labor Day weekend.

The president will be in New York City for a barbecue fundraiser during the last weekend in August, according to a fundraising email sent to Democratic supporters on Friday.

Small-dollar donors can enter to win admission to the event, along with flight and hotel accommodations, through the Democratic National Committee's website.

The invitation did not include additional details on where the fundraiser would be hosted, and a spokesman for the DNC declined to comment about the event.

The president has been fundraising at a torrid pace in recent months, looking to bolster vulnerable House and Senate Democrats ahead of the November midterms. According to CBS News reporter Mark Knoller, the president's mid-vacation fundraiser Monday night benefitting the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee was the 400th fundraiser of his presidency.

The president's weekend jaunt to New York City will precede what appears to be a packed first week of September for Obama.

Earlier Friday, the White House announced Obama would travel to Estonia that week in a bid to bolster Baltic allies concerned over Russia's interference in Ukraine. From Estonia, Obama plans to travel to Wales for a NATO summit.
