George Clooney won’t predict a second term for Obama, hopes for reelection
Actor George Clooney isn’t a betting man when it comes to the 2012 presidential election.
When the A-list actor appeared at the White House on Thursday and was asked about President Obama’s reelection chances, Clooney — a staunch Obama supporter — said he didn’t know.
Clooney, who attended Wednesday night’s state dinner honoring British Prime Minister David Cameron, told reporters he enjoyed the black-tie affair and the woman seated beside him — first lady Michelle Obama.
“I got to sit next to her,” the Hollywood heartthrob said. “It was really nice. I really enjoyed the evening. It was fun. I was very impressed with the prime minister and his wife as well.”
White House reporters, in typical fashion, aimed to keep the questions serious, and Clooney was mostly asked questions on the topic du-jour: Sudan. But a few softballs were lobbed his way.
“How long are you going to keep your Sudanese beard?” American Urban Radio Network’s April Ryan asked Clooney, who flew in from Sudan two days ago.
Fans of the beard might have to say goodbye.
“I have to buy a new razor now,” Clooney said with a laugh.
