President Obama attended a reception in Wales on Thursday evening hosted by Prince Charles.
Obama, who is in Wales for a meeting of NATO leaders, "warmly greeted" the prince before the two men shook hands, smiled and posed for cameras, according to a White House pool report.
When someone at the reception asked how it felt to be the first U.S. president to visit Wales, Obama said he was having a great visit and urged others to visit, the pool report noted.
Later on Thursday evening Obama will attend a NATO dinner.
