Romney admitted Monday he would not have put the dog, which began suffering from diarrhea, on the roof had he known what a political firestorm it would cause.

Obama's campaign has frequently jabbed Romney over the anecdote, and Romney's staff has reveled in trading fire after the president's dog meat story went viral last night. Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom re-purposed a previous swipe from Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod on the social network to mock the president.
