Justice Breyer's Georgetown home burglarized
The Washington home of Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer was broken into earlier this month, according to a report in The Washington Post.
According to a police report, the burglar likely broke a pane of glass near Breyer's front door and entered his Georgetown home. Among the missing items: a pair of $500 silver candlesticks and a 100-piece set of silver worth some $2,500.
The Breyers were not home at the time of the robbery, which remains an open investigation, according to D.C. police. A housekeeper discovered the break-in.
Other Supreme Court justices have also been victims of robbery in recent years. Justice David Souter was assaulted while jogging in 2004, and Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had her purse snatched in 1996, according to The New York Times.
