Sarah Jessica Parker to host Obama fundraiser

The “Sex and the City” star will host the fundraiser for Obama in her New York City home.
The campaign sent out an email from Parker announcing what she called the “fabulous” event in her home on June 14 and letting supporters know they can donate $3 or more to be entered in a raffle to attend, much like the Clooney fundraiser.
“For me, this election is even more important than 2008,” she wrote in the email. “This November's election will determine whether we get to keep moving forward, or if we're forced to go back to policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden — while people like me, who don't need tax breaks, get extra help.”
The fundraiser in Clooney’s Los Angeles home was heavily publicized and raked in $15 million for the campaign, due in part to the star-studded guest list.
Building on the success of a fundraiser this month featuring George Clooney, President Obama’s campaign on Friday announced another Hollywood star is hosting a fundraiser on its behalf next month.
Sarah Jessica Parker, best known for her role as Carrie on HBO’s “Sex and the City,” will host the fundraiser for Obama in her New York City home.
“For me, this election is even more important than 2008,” she wrote in the email. “This November's election will determine whether we get to keep moving forward, or if we're forced to go back to policies that ask people like my middle-class family in Ohio to carry the burden — while people like me, who don't need tax breaks, get extra help.”

This time around, the winner of the fundraising raffle will get two tickets to a Mariah Carey concert in New York City — along with travel expenses, accommodations in New York City, and entrance to the exclusive fundraiser.
