Actor Kal Penn: Working at the White House better than working on 'House'
Obama supporter and actor Kal Penn spoke to campaign volunteers in Arlington, Va., on Monday night, but faced questions about how he combines his work for the campaign with his Hollywood career.
“What was more fun, working at the White House or working on 'House?' ” a member of the audience asked Penn, according to local news site ARLnow.com.
Penn, best known for his roles in the comedic "Harold & Kumar" movie series as well a regular role on the just-concluded Fox medical drama "House," said working at the White House was the best.
Several Hollywood stars were named as co-chairman earlier this year, and serve as “ambassadors" raising the media profile of the campaign.
“As much as a love the movie career ... seeing what the stakes are and seeing what the alternative is just makes you want to do everything you can between now and November to get the president reelected," Penn said at the event held at Cafe Asia in Rosslyn. "I feel lucky that I can go back to my creative job, but right now when we do events like this, it’s a little more serious in tone.”
