Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) on Sunday compared the Obama administration’s handling of the Fast and Furious controversy to Watergate.
The former GOP presidential candidate said Obama’s decision to assert executive privilege over documents demanded by House Republicans is “Nixonian.”
“If that’s not Nixonian than I don’t know what is,” Perry said of the decision to assert executive privilege.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee last week voted to place Attorney General Eric Holder in contempt. The full House is expected to vote on the contempt charge this week.
At issue are documents related to a botched gun-tracking operation that resulted in guns falling into the hands of drug cartels. Two guns were found at the murder scene of a U.S. border agent.
