Anthony Weiner says he’s not plotting comeback
Former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), who resigned from Congress in disgrace after a text-messaging scandal, says he is not planning a return to public life.
Asked on a radio show whether he’s testing the waters for a public return, Weiner denied it.
“I’m just going on my favorite radio show and talking about a subject that’s very dear to me,” Weiner said on "The Brian Lehrer Show."
The former congressman expressed regret for the Twitter scandal that caused him to resign from office.
“I still have regrets,” Weiner said. “I paid a very high price, but I’m still committed to the same things I was. I have a six-month-old that I have to go and feed now, so I have to say my life is filled with great joy, but as I said when I resigned, I feel great regret for the people I let down."
