Team Obama raises campaign funds off 51st birthday party
President Obama's reelection campaign is raising funds off a party the president will hold in Chicago next month for his 51st birthday.
The campaign sent out a fundraising email written by first lady Michelle Obama saying that the president plans to celebrate the birthday at his Kenwood home in the Windy City.
"Barack turns 51 next month, and there will be a little celebration at our house in Chicago," the first lady writes in the email. "We'd like to give grassroots supporters an opportunity to join in the fun. You guys deserve it, and I know Barack would personally love to see you there."
Obama officially turned 50 when he was en route to Andrews Air Force base on Air Force One in 2011. He spent the night before his birthday doing a series of campaign events in Chicago.
