Jindal, McDonnell to campaign for Romney in Iowa

Republican governors Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Bob McDonnell of Virginia will stump for Mitt Romney in Iowa while the former Massachusetts governor is overseas.

McDonnell will be in Davenport, Iowa on Thursday and Jindal will appear at an event in Des Moines the same day, according to The Des Moines Register. Both governors will be featured at an event in Coralville, Iowa.

The campaign is likely to announce further events featuring McDonnell and Jindal.

Both Jindal and McConnell have been mentioned as possible vice presidential candidates for the 2012 Republican presidential ticket.

In 2012, Jindal campaigned for Romney in Illinois, Utah, Nebraska, Louisiana, Ohio, and Pennsylvania, according to the Iowa paper. McDonnell has also stumped for Romney in South Carolina and key battleground states: Florida, Michigan, and Virginia.
