Maryland Gov. O'Malley forms political action committee
Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley (D) formed a political action committee this week.
On Monday, O'Malley filed a statement of organization for the O' Say Can You See Political Action Committee.
The PAC will reportedly be used for high priority ballot initiatives.
The committee's formation will likely increase speculation that O'Malley is gearing up for a run for president in 2016. Besides the PAC, which politicians often use to increase their influence or support presidential runs, O'Malley is also currently he chairman of the Democratic Governor's Association, a position a number of Democrats have held prior to running for president.
O'Malley, himself, has avoided answering whether he's planning to run for president.
"I think, right now, all I need to focus on is what I'm doing for the people of our state," O'Malley told local Baltimore television station WBALtv in May. "And after November, we'll take a look at what the future holds."
