Former President Bill Clinton and former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist will attend an upcoming fundraiser for Sen. Bill Nelson's (D-Fla.) reelection campaign.

Crist, who lost a Senate race to now-Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said Wednesday that he plans to attend the fundraiser for Nelson, according to The Associated Press.

The fundraiser is at the home of John Morgan, a trial attorney who works at the same firm as Crist.

Crist formerly was a Republican but during his unsuccessful Senate bid switched to Independent.

A recent Florida Decides poll found likely challenger Rep. Connie Mack (R-Fla.) trailing Nelson, 47 to 42 percent.
