Kucinich describes visiting Jackson Jr., says he's 'in a very fragile' state
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) described Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) as being in a "fragile state" after visiting the Illinois congressman over the weekend.
Kucinich visited Jackson over the weekend and the Ohio congressman's office released a photo of the two talking in front of a giant get-well card signed by more than 100 members of Congress. Kucinich said Jackson was "very touched" by the card.
"And also, he's in a fragile state and I think that people who know him and love him —and there are many people not just in the capitol here but across the country particularly in his district— they want to make sure that he gets through this period," Kucinich said Tuesday on MSNBC. "But emotionally he's been in a very fragile situation."
Family members and people close to Jackson have said it's unclear when he will be released from the clinic and resume his normal duties as a member of Congress. Jackson offices has, however, begun laying the groundwork for the Illinois congressman to run again.
