Ann Romney has received her own Secret Service detail, according to media reports.

The wife of presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney was assigned protection late Friday afternoon, a campaign aide confirmed to ABC News, which first reported the detail.

Reports said Mrs. Romney was seen by pool reporters riding in a two-car motorcade outside of the family’s home in Wolfeboro, N.H. early Sunday.

Sources told ABC News that it was standard for the wife of a candidate to receive their own protection detail during the party convention.

The Republican National Convention will be held this week in Tampa, Fla. Ann Romney was originally scheduled to speak on Monday, but was moved to Tuesday.

Tropical Storm Isaac, which is expected to gain hurricane strength, is headed towards the Gulf of Mexico and west coast of Florida. On Sunday the RNC announced that they would cancel Monday’s events to avoid the effects of the storm.

Mitt Romney received Secret Service protection in late January.
