Van Hollen talks preparations for playing Ryan in debate prep
Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) has gotten his "lines" down but needs to work on his mannerisms in preparing to play Paul Ryan in Vice President Biden's debate prep.
"I got my lines," Van Hollen said at the Capitol on Thursday. "I've got to work on my gestures."
Van Hollen, the ranking member on the House Budget Committee, will stand in for Ryan, the chairman of the committee, during Biden's debate prep.
"We'll kick into higher gear in a little bit," Van Hollen said.
In response to a question of who Van Hollen thought would play Biden in Ryan's debate prep, Van Hollen said he wasn't "going there."
The vice presidential debate is set for Oct. 11 at Centre College located in Danville, Ky.
Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) is playing Mitt Romney in President Obama's debate practice, and Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) is playing Obama in Romney's practice sessions.
