Biden isn't planning a 'rope-a-dope' debate

Vice President Biden said Thursday he's looking forward to the vice presidential debate against Paul Ryan tonight, adding that his plan is not to lure his opponent into a false sense of security.  

"Looking forward to it," Biden said according to a pool report on Thursday.

Biden was then asked if his plan was to use a rope-a-dope strategy of making himself look weak to make Ryan overconfident and slip up.

"You ever see me rope-a-dope?" Biden said.

Biden is set to square off against Ryan Thursday night in Danville, Ky., during the only vice presidential debate of this cycle.

Democrats are hoping for a strong debate performance by the vice president to turn the corner after a disappointing performance by President Obama against Mitt Romney during the first presidential debate a week earlier.

A day earlier Ryan also said he was excited about the debate.

"I'm not intimidated; I'm actually excited about it," Ryan said according to CNN.
