Officers in first lady's motorcade involved in accident

Two motorcycle officers were involved in an accident while escorting first lady Michelle Obama’s motorcade in Ohio, according to local news reports.

The first lady was not involved in the accident.

The two officers involved were from Genoa Township and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, and were transported to a hospital in Columbus with unknown injuries, according to WBNS-TV.

Motorcycle accidents in a White House motorcade have been reported several times this year, including twice in Florida. A motorcycle officer was reported injured by the side of the road of a motorcade in April, and another was killed while closing a highway for the motorcade in September.

The first lady spoke at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio, on Monday afternoon and was on her way to speak at another campaign event in Cleveland.
