Reports: Romney could campaign in Ohio on Election Day
Mitt Romney is considering an Election Day campaign event in crucial swing state Ohio, according to multiple media reports.
The Romney campaign has not confirmed that the Republican presidential nominee will travel to the state Tuesday, though Romney announced a Monday night rally in Columbus.
A visit to the state on Tuesday — after a scheduled Monday night rally featuring musician Kid Rock that had been billed as the concluding public event of the campaign — underscores the importance of Ohio's 18 electoral votes.
Recent polls have given a slight advantage to President Obama, with the Real Clear Politics average in the state showing Obama with 50 percent to Romney's 47 percent. Without a win in either Ohio or Wisconsin, where Obama has also posted a slight but consistent lead, Romney would likely need a sweep of all the remaining swing states to win the election.
