Mitt and Ann Romney send Thanksgiving wishes on Facebook

Mitt Romney appeared with wife Ann in a photo posted on his Facebook page Friday, wishing supporters a happy Thanksgiving.

"Hope everyone had a greet Thanksgiving! Much to be thankful for this year," the photo caption reads.

The picture shows Romney, looking far from the buttoned-up presidential nominee of just weeks ago, hugging his wife in their kitchen.

Romney has largely fallen out of the public spotlight since his loss on Election Day, but photos of him casually pumping gas, or vacationing with family at Disneyland, have bubbled up in past weeks.

The casual photos of Romney, in which he is dressed down and occasionally has rumpled hair, are a stark contrast to the clean-cut candidate often criticized for being too stiff on the campaign trail.

Romney has made very few public comments about the election in the weeks following his loss, but a conference call with donors in which he attributed his loss to "gifts" given to young people and minorities went viral earlier this month and brought widespread rebuke from Republican Party leaders.

And he hasn't yet indicated what involvement he'll have going forward with the GOP, as the party reevaluates its strategy and message coming out of what many Republicans see as a disappointing 2012 election cycle.
