RNC to host winter meeting in Charlotte in January
The Republican National Committee (RNC) will hold its winter meeting in Charlotte, N.C., the same city where Democrats hosted their national convention this fall, the party announced Tuesday.
The announcement was made on Twitter by RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, who will be up for reelection at the January meeting. The Wisconsin Republican has indicated he plans to run for another term, and indications are he will have enough votes to continue on as party chairman.

And unlike other states, North Carolina was a bright spot for Republicans in 2012. Despite Democrats choosing Charlotte to host their convention, North Carolina was one of two states that Republicans flipped from 2008, and the most competitive contest where Mitt Romney prevailed. Republicans also picked up three House seats and the governor's office in the state.
