Former Republican presidential contender Tim Pawlenty was at the White House Thursday for a meeting with administration officials.
The former Minnesota governor was expected to discuss fiscal issues with top aides, although it is not clear whether talk of the so-called "fiscal cliff" was on the agenda.
Earlier this week, Pawlenty publicly lamented that House Republicans felt boxed in with the negotiations.
The former governor took over as CEO of the Financial Services Roundtable in November, just days before the presidential election. As head of the prestigious K Street firm, he now represents 100 integrated financial services companies providing banking, insurance and investment products. He had previously served as a co-chairman of Mitt Romney's 2012 presidential campaign.
