Michelle Obama, Bill Clinton nominated for Grammys
First lady Michelle Obama and former President Clinton will be competing for music's top prize next year — both have been nominated for a Grammy in the spoken-word-album category.
The competition will also be a rematch of sorts for the first lady and Ellen DeGeneres, following their friendly push-up competition. DeGeneres is nominated for her book, Seriously... I'm kidding. Other nominees are MSNBC's Rachel Maddow for Drift: The unmooring of American military power and singer Janis Ian for Society's child: My autobiography.
While they would not be competing in the same category, the first lady did beat out big-name artists such as Justin Bieber, Nicki Minaj and One Direction, who were all snubbed by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
The 2013 Grammy awards show will air Feb. 10, 2013.
