Ron Paul to hit paid-speaking circuit

Former Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul will hit the paid-speaking circuit after retiring from Congress next month.

The Texas congressman, whose quick wit and libertarian philosophy earned him a small but dedicated following that helped fund his presidential efforts, will be represented by the New York-based Greater Talent Network Speakers Bureau.

The firm promises that Paul will provide "a candid look at the dysfunctional American political system."

"Using anecdotes from his 23 years in Congress, he highlights the need for a limited government and more personal liberties," an advertisement for Paul's services reads. "Dr. Paul captures audiences’ attention by relating the occurrence of current national issues such as debt, privacy and freedom to the government’s neglect to follow the Constitution."

Those interested in booking the congressmen will have their choice of two speech topics: "An Evening With Ron Paul" and "Liberty Defined: The Future of Freedom."

According to BuzzFeed, Paul will charge $50,000 per appearance, putting him in the middle of the pack for former politicians.
