White House cancels press briefing over 'snowquester'
The White House announced Wednesday that press secretary Jay Carney would not hold his daily press briefing, citing inclement weather.
The Washington, D.C., area is expected to be pummeled by between four to eight inches of snow, although temperatures remained above freezing early Wednesday morning. The federal government announced earlier in the morning that all federal offices would be closed.
The House of Representatives announced Tuesday it would hold votes early Wednesday in hopes of allowing members to skip town early. The House had been expected to meet Thursday; the change moved up a vote on a stopgap spending bill designed to keep the federal government funded through the end of September.
