The funds raised at the event go to Friends of John Boehner —the speaker's political action committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, the Ohio Republican Party State Central & Executive Committee, and The Freedom Project, a political action committee of which Boehner serves as chairman.

The requested donations range from $5,000 to $50,000.

Boehner is not the only high-profile Republican to fundraise in Chicago. Sen.
