Boehner to fundraise in Chicago

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) is in President Obama's hometown on Monday for a high-priced fundraiser for House Republicans.

Illinois Republican Reps. Rodney Davis, Randy Hultgren, Adam Kinzinger, John Shimkus, Aaron Schock, and Peter Roskam are hosting Boehner, according to the Chicago Sun-Times

The funds raised at the event go to Friends of John Boehner —the speaker's political action committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee, the Ohio Republican Party State Central & Executive Committee, and The Freedom Project, a political action committee of which Boehner serves as chairman.

The requested donations range from $5,000 to $50,000.

Boehner is not the only high-profile Republican to fundraise in Chicago. Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), often mentioned as a possible presidential candidate in 2016, has also fundraised in the Windy City.
