Poll: Nation hits six-year high in optimism

The encouraging signs come despite indications that the end of the payroll tax holiday and the implementation of the sequester could be slowing down the economic recovery. Last month's jobs report showed nearly half a million Americans dropping out of the labor market and the smallest number of new jobs added since last June.


The survey was conducted from April 5-7 and questioned 1,012 adults, resulting in a margin of error of 3 percentage points.
