Bush hopes brother Jeb runs for president

Former President George W. Bush said in an interview published Friday that he hopes his brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, will run for president.

In an interview with Parade magazine, the former president was asked if the country was "ready for another Bush" in the White House.

"That’s for Jeb to figure out, you know what I mean?" Bush said, laughing. "I would hope that people would judge, if Jeb were to run, on his merits and his track record."

Jeb Bush, a former governor of Florida, is seen as a top contender for the Republican nomination in 2016.

But some question whether his famous family might be a liability, given that the last two Republican presidents have been Bushes.

George W. Bush is in the midst of a media blitz ahead of next week's opening of his presidential library on the campus of Southern Methodist University.
