President Obama is dining with all of the female members of the Senate Tuesday night, the White House announced.
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) thanked Obama for the invitation over Twitter.
Thank you Pres. Obama for inviting all the women Senators to the White House for dinner tomw night. Looking forward to it! #offthesidelines— Kirsten Gillibrand (@SenGillibrand) April 22, 2013
The dinner is a continuation of a number of meetings the president has held with senators in recent weeks. He's hosted closed-door dinners with a dozen Democratic senators and two sets of 12 Republican senators.
Sixteen of the 20 women serving in the upper chamber are Democrats.
