National Review first reported the book deal on Wednesday.
The current theme of the book is "American renewal," the conservative magazine reported.
The autobiographical part of the book will focus on Ryan's childhood in Janesville, Wis., and his time working for Rep. Jack Kemp (R-N.Y.). Ryan will also write about his time as the vice presidential candidate during Mitt Romney's presidential campaign. The sections that focus on the campaign, however, will not be a "tell-all."
Currently the book is untitled.
Ryan is working with attorney Bob Barnett, a prominent Washington lawyer who is regularly involved in books by high-profile lawmakers.
