Obama to deliver speech at Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

President Clinton also spoke at the historic site in 1994 in a speech outlining his vision for post-Cold War Europe.

Then candidate-Obama spoke in Berlin during the 2008 presidential race to a massive crowd.

That appearance sparked criticism from this GOP rival Sen. John McCain (Ariz.) who mocked him as a “global celebrity” unprepared to be president.

Obama will visit Germany as part of his travel to the Group of Eight Summit in Northern Ireland later this month. He is scheduled to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Joachim Gauck while there.
