“Right now, they’re concentrating on trying to get through this very trying time,” Crump said on ABC’s “This Week.”

“They’re going to certainly look at that as an option,” Crump said about a civil case. “They deeply don’t want their son’s death to be in vain.”

The Justice Department is also under some pressure now to file federal civil rights charges against Zimmerman.

Crump said Martin’s parents were currently concentrating on the foundation they’ve set up in their son’s honor, and also pushed back on claims from Zimmerman’s lawyer that his client would not have been charged if he was black.

“Nobody in America worries that black men won’t be convicted in court,” Crump said.
