Jim Messina has been hired as a "campaign strategy adviser" for the Conservative Party, commonly referred to as the Tories, according to the BBC.
Messina's hire comes two years ahead of the 2015 general elections in the U.K.
The Conservative Party there is hoping Messina will help them replicate the media and social coordination of Obama's last presidential campaign.
According to the BBC, Messina will serve as member of the party's "senior management team." He will be based in the United States. He will report to Australian strategist Lynton Crosby, who the party hired in November.
