Velázquez is the fourth politician to be arrested in the protests. In July, two city councilmen and a public advocate were arrested at similar protests.

“This is about our children,” Velázquez said, according to the report. “This is about the healthcare needs of an entire community. It’s just not right and we will continue to fight.”

The hospital is reportedly losing $15 million a month and has only remained open because a temporary court order has prevented it from closing.
