White House calling House Dems on Syria

The call is part of what the administration has referred to as a "flood the zone" effort to win congressional and public support for a military strike against Syria.

President Obama said Saturday that while he believes military action in Syria is necessary, he'll seek congressional approval before moving forward.

However, a number of lawmakers remain skeptical of engaging in the conflict, and some said after a classified briefing on Sunday that the authorization sought by the White House was too broad.
