Biden's niece taken into police custody

Caroline Biden, 26, was taken into custody after “scuffling with cops who were sent to her Tribeca apartment,” the New York Daily News says.

Biden has not yet been charged, reports say.

Police responded to her apartment in the lower Manhattan area of Tribeca at 9:15 a.m.

Caroline is the daughter of one of the vice president’s younger brothers, James Biden Sr.

She attended Georgetown University and currently works at Higher Pictures, a New York art gallery, according to her LinkedIn profile.

This was not her first run-in with police, the report says.

Amtrak police briefly detained her because of a “misunderstanding over a train fare.”
