In an email to Fox News producer and reporter Chad Pergram, Dianne Reidy said the Holy Spirit had been preparing her throughout the shutdown for such a moment.
“For the past 2 and 1/2 weeks, the Holy Spirit has been waking me up in the middle of the night and preparing me (through my reluctance and doubt) to deliver a message in the House Chamber,” she told Pergram in an email. “That is what I did last night.”
Reidy’s husband, Dan, said he was “proud of her.”
“My wife is a sweet, level-headed wonderful woman of God,” he wrote. “I am proud of her.”
Reidy caused a stir on Wednesday after she took to the clerk’s podium, where the president delivers the State of the Union address, yelling “praise be to God.”
"He will not be mocked. He will not be mocked. Don't touch me. He will not be mocked," she said. “The greatest deception here is, this is not one nation under God. It never was. Had it been, it would not have been. No. It would not have been. The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons. They go against God. You cannot serve two masters. You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Praise Forever.”
