Trump aide fires back at ‘low energy’ Jeb Bush

A top White House official fired back at Jeb Bush on Friday after the former GOP presidential rival said that "chaos" was dominating President Trump's tenure.

White House social media director Dan Scavino resurfaced Trump's campaign-trail attack on Bush as "low energy" in a post on Twitter:

Bush noted at a hedge fund conference earlier in the day Friday in Las Vegas that he had predicted Trump would be a "chaos president" while the two battled for the GOP presidential nomination.

"When I ran for office, I said he is a chaos candidate and would be a chaos president," the former Florida governor said at the Skybridge Alternatives (SALT) event.

"Unfortunately, so far chaos organizes the presidency right now," he added.

Trump departed on Friday afternoon for a nine-day overseas trip, his first as president, following a tumultuous two weeks in Washington dominated by a series of bombshell stories that led to several controversies and scrutiny of White House leaks.

Trump's decision to abruptly fire FBI Director James Comey was met with outcry among lawmakers and led to the appointment of a special counsel this week to oversee the federal probe into possible coordination between Trump's campaign and Russia.

The Trump administration also grappled with a memo authored by Comey that said Trump urged him to drop the FBI investigation into former national security adviser Michael Flynn and reports that Trump revealed highly classified information to the Russians.
