The Congressional Black Caucus delegation that met with Fidel Castro recently did not ask about Cuba's human rights record.

Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-MO) told the Kansas City Stary that the six lawmakers did not broach the topic with Castro, but Cuban officials said they would be willing to discuss the issue if the United States wanted to begin talks.

Cleaver also said the Cuban people seemed to be free, contrary to U.S. perceptions.
